Polička (Svitavsko) - Polička is preparing a new extensive area for residential housing in houses and apartment buildings. It will be created in the southern part of the city bounded by Čs. armády and Bezručova streets. In total, four apartment buildings with 40 to 50 apartments and 84 family houses should be built in two phases, said city spokesperson Naděžda Šauerová to ČTK.
The city hall plans to start construction of roads and infrastructure in the autumn, and everything should be completed in the first half of next year. "After the infrastructure is in place, we will sell the plots to individual builders. The construction of the houses would be their responsibility, the apartment buildings would be built by a developer or the city would act as the investor," Šauerová stated. In the end, the city's costs should be recouped from the sales.
In the first phase, the city purchased 4.5 hectares of land from 45 private owners for nine million crowns, and it already owned other areas. After the infrastructure is built, apartment buildings and 46 family houses will be constructed on them. The city hall estimates infrastructure costs at 40 million crowns.
The second phase should continue, where the area of land is about 3.3 hectares and Polička must partially purchase and prepare it. "We already know that there is a high interest in construction, so we will proceed with it," said the spokesperson. Plots for 38 houses are planned here.
In addition to houses and apartment buildings, the city hall is also considering public areas. Park greenery will be planted in the territory, and the study also accounts for a multifunctional playground. The city believes that with the new construction, it will succeed in halting the declining population.
