Most - The Cultural House Repre in the center of Most will not be completed by the builders due to unexpected obstacles by the end of 2026. Work costing one billion korunas will probably finish in the first quarter of 2027, and the public may visit Repre in September 2027 after the library has moved. The first balls in the new hall for 1000 people will likely take place in two years, said Mayor Marek Hrvol (ProMOST). The last city ball was held in Repre in 2019.

The original completion date for the renovation of the cultural house was September 2026. The building, constructed by prisoners in the 1970s, is structurally sound, but according to experts, the execution is catastrophic. The construction was carried out quickly, but unprofessionally; the concrete structures are inaccurate, and a bricked-up glove was also found. During the demolition, craftsmen discovered asbestos in the structure and encountered a substrate layer of debris.

"From information from the construction site, we know that the deadline will be extended by two to three months. It is unrealistic for the library to move in January 2027," the mayor stated.

The library with its archive will move into Repre, occupying a significant part of the building. A new educational exhibition will be created in the building, while the planetarium and the hall where balls used to be held will be preserved. The house will be multifunctional and can also be used as a cinema. The capacity of the hall will be 800 seats and approximately 200 standing places. There will be a restaurant on the ground floor. The city is already searching for its operator, and according to Hrvol, there is interest.

The cultural house is located in the center near the main street Budovatelů, right next to the city hall. The city sold the building in 2010 for 28 million korunas. Five years later, the arbitration court declared the purchase contract invalid, determining that the owner is the city of Most. A demolition order was previously issued for the building. The intricately designed house was built between 1972 and 1984 alongside the construction of the new town. On the roof is a copper sphere of the planetarium. After the reconstruction, it will return, along with the lighting fixtures and some artworks.

After the library moves, the building will accommodate the primary art school, and according to the mayor, the establishment of a cultural and creative center is planned. The building, which opened to the public in 1985, is illuminated by the longest chandelier in European libraries. A double helix of glass tubes winds above the book shelves along the entire length of the building.
