The principles of allocating grants by NČA in 2013 are similar to those of last year. They are based on the priority support for two architectural galleries – GJF in Prague and GA in Brno. To facilitate the galleries' operations, the NČA board decided to grant year-round operational and exhibition program grants to the galleries again this year. A total of 700,000 CZK was allocated in the announced call for proposals. The financial source of the call for proposals comes from the revenues of NČA's endowment and also from NIF, where the mandatory amount calculated for distribution in 2013 is 199,061 CZK. This amount must be distributed among non-profit organizations. A total of 60 projects applied for the call for proposals, with a financial demand of 4,731,285 CZK. Due to the amount available for distribution, it was not possible to satisfy all interesting projects. The grant committee agreed to prioritize projects that address a wider audience and respond to current topics. The International Day of Architecture, organized by the Kruh association, lectures and discussions about architecture in smaller towns, the Folk School of Urbanism, or the Architects in School project are examples that the grant committee considers beneficial activities contributing to increasing public interest in the quality of the environment. In addition, the grant committee decided this time to support publishing activities more broadly. A total of 12 projects aimed at publishing monographs, collections, and theoretical publications were supported in the call for proposals. It also supported the publication of the ERA magazine. From the exhibition activities, it appreciated the projects of the Brno association 4AM, the exhibition showcasing the work of architect Ivan Ruller, and the exhibition project of young architects Thinking City. A total of 700,000 CZK was distributed among 24 projects, of which 530,000 CZK went to 12 projects of non-profit organizations. An overview of selected projects and granted funds:
