Toyo Ito will arrive in Prague.
At the beginning of the year, a selection process was underway for the distribution of foundation contributions for the year 2010. It was announced in November of last year with a submission deadline of January 6, 2010. As every year, it was announced for two categories (A - exhibition activities and B - publication and lecture activities), between which a total amount of 1 million CZK was distributed.
A total of 42 projects applied for the selection process, with 19 projects in category A and 23 projects in category B.
Among the priorities of the NČA grant policy are a focus on contemporary architecture, support for new projects, and the existence of the Jaroslav Fragner Gallery in Prague and the Architecture Gallery in Brno. The foundation does not support the architects' own professional activities and activities organized by architecture schools.
The proposal for the distribution of foundation contributions was prepared by the grant committee consisting of Milena Sršňová, Aleš Burian, Jaroslav Zima, Marek Chalupa, Petr Malinský, and Ladislav Kuba with the participation of the foundation’s board members Ivan Vavřík, Martin Peterka, Tomáš Zlámal, Radek Kolařík, and Michal Kuzemenský. The proposal was approved by the foundation's board. The foundation contributions were awarded as follows:
