Hradec Králové - The Town Hall of Hradec Králové today announced an architectural and landscaping competition for the use of the attractive area of Rozárka on the hill at the southern edge of the city. Only architects born in 1981 and younger can apply for the competition. Interested parties can submit their proposals by October 26. The competition will be a single round, and the results are expected to be announced in December. The author of the winning proposal will receive 80,000 crowns. This was stated by the Town Hall spokesperson Magdaléna Vlčková.

The Rozárka location, which covers about 2.6 hectares, is favored by residents of Hradec as a place offering a nice view of the city, the Krkonošsko mountains, and the Orlické mountains. The competition aims to find a suitable combination of landscape use for sports and relaxation in green spaces. The winning proposal will serve as a basis for future city decisions on how to appropriately utilize the area.

In the past, Rozárka, which has an elevation of 276 meters and stands about 50 meters above its surroundings, hosted a ski lift. Since 1992, when the local ski club left the area, it has been deteriorating. The location is covered with grass and trees.

The city anticipates that it will also address the area of the forest park north of Rozárka in the future. This area is adjacent to the largest residential estate in Hradec, Moravské Předměstí, and, unlike Rozárka, is privately owned.
