Hradec Králové - The city hall received 12 proposals from young architects for the architectural-landscape competition on the use of the attractive area of Rozárka, located on the hill at the southern edge of Hradec Králové. The winning design will serve as a basis for future city decisions on how to appropriately utilize the lookout area of Rozárka. This was reported by the city hall spokesperson Magdaléna Vlčková.
"The 12 submitted competition proposals met our expectations. We hope that the designs will bring fresh ideas for the utilization of this neglected area," said Vlčková. The city hall intends to exhibit the submitted proposals to the public after evaluation. Only architects born in 1981 or younger could enter the competition. The results are expected to be announced at the turn of November and December, with the author of the winning proposal receiving 80,000 crowns.
The Rozárka area, which covers about 2.6 hectares, is a popular spot among Hradec residents for its nice view of the city, the Krkonošsko mountains, and the Orlické mountains. The competition aims to find a suitable combination of land use for sports and relaxation in green spaces.
In the past, there was a ski lift operating at Rozárka, which has an elevation of 276 meters, rising about 50 meters above its surroundings. Since the Hradec skiing club left the area in 1992, the site has been deteriorating. The area is covered with grass and trees.
The city anticipates that it will also address the forest park north of Rozárka in the future. It borders the largest housing estate in Hradec, Moravské Předměstí, and unlike Rozárka, it is held by private owners.
