OSTRAVA - Architects are searching for the best façade for the fourth time, which was created this year on buildings or industrial sites in the Moravian-Silesian Region. Private investors, architects, and construction companies can register their objects for the Moravian-Silesian Region Façade Competition, said the director of the competition, Tomáš Závada, at a press conference today. A new feature of the fourth year of the competition is a financial prize. For the first time, winners in individual categories will receive an award of 20,000 Czech crowns. Until now, they only received a certificate and a plaque. The competition is announced in four categories: for the façade of a family house, apartment building, panel building, and the façade of administrative and industrial buildings. To succeed in the competition, the façade must be completed by the end of 2005 on a site in the Moravian-Silesian Region. Applications, which interested parties can find at the internet address www.fasada.mskraj.com, must be submitted by January 21, 2006. The announcement of the competition results is planned for March.
