Buštěhrad - Work on the creation of an information center in the Buštěhrad castle will begin in the autumn; the councilors are to select a company that will carry it out on Wednesday. "It should be completed in the spring," said today to ČTK the mayor of Buštěhrad, Daniela Javorčeková (Společně association). Part of the castle belongs to the city, which houses the municipal office, while the second part belongs to the Central Bohemian Region and is set for reconstruction. The regional authority will probably decide this summer on the free transfer of its part to the city.
The information center will be established in the central wing of the castle, with an investment of approximately two million crowns, part of which will be covered by a regional grant. It will promote the city and its surroundings. Buštěhrad is home to, among other things, the Ota Pavel Museum, fragments of the Buštěhrad castle, ponds, a brewery, and over time, an exhibition about the history of the castle should also be created.
Last year, the city invested, among other things, over a million crowns in the repair of the facade of the northern part of the castle. The costs were partly covered by a grant from the Ministry of Culture.
The renovation of the dilapidated part of the Buštěhrad castle was advocated by former Central Bohemian governor David Rath (then with the CSSD), who was unlawfully convicted due to manipulation with contracts, including the one for the repair of Buštěhrad. However, the Prague High Court overturned the verdict, and the regional court will decide on the case again.
The previous county administration wanted to use European grants for the castle's renovation, but due to changes in grant policy, this was not possible according to former governor Miloš Petera (CSSD). The cost of repairs is estimated at 100 million crowns. The city wants to build facilities for students, youth, seniors, and local associations in the current regional part.
