Buštěhrad - The town of Buštěhrad continues to renovate the castle, which is set to house an information center. This was reported today by the mayor of Buštěhrad, Daniela Javorčeková (association Together). Part of the castle belongs to the town, which houses the town hall, while the other part belongs to the Central Bohemian Region and is undergoing reconstruction. The new regional leadership will address how to handle it. According to the regional deputy for culture, Daniel Marek (TOP 09), a decision is likely to be made next year.

This year, the town has invested over one million crowns in the renovation of the facade of the northern part of the castle. The costs were partially covered by a grant from the Ministry of Culture. Other spaces in the central part of the building are also awaiting renovation.

In the ground floor of the town's section of the castle, an information center is set to start operations after modifications, with costs reaching approximately two million crowns. The town also aims to secure grants from the Ministry of Culture's Architectural Heritage Rescue Program for these repairs. "We have the project ready," said the mayor. According to her, work could begin in the spring.

The information center will promote the town and its surroundings. Buštěhrad is home to the Ota Pavel Museum, fragments of the Buštěhrad Castle, ponds, a brewery, and a future exhibit about the history of the castle.

The reconstruction of the dilapidated part of the Buštěhrad castle was advocated by former Central Bohemian governor David Rath (then ČSSD), who was convicted of manipulating contracts, including one for the renovation of Buštěhrad. The previous regional leadership wanted to utilize EU grants for the castle's renovation, but due to a change in grant policy, according to former governor Miloš Petera (ČSSD), this was not possible. The repairs are estimated at 100 million crowns.

Next year, the town of Buštěhrad, which has more than three thousand residents, will operate with an approximately forty million crown budget. It plans, among other things, investments in social facilities and a boiler room for the kindergarten, as well as improvements to the area near the elementary school.
