Pardubice - The Pardubice city council agrees to rent land to the company D+D Park Pardubice, which is needed for obtaining additional construction permits. CTK was informed today by Deputy Mayor Alexandr Krejčíř. The developer constructed a massive logistics center without a permit and is now gathering the necessary documents to be able to build again. The council has promised the company a lease, even though it still lacks the essential documents for legalizing the construction. The councilors have recommended that the signing of the lease agreement be the last phase of this contentious case.
Krejčíř believes it would be better for the city management not to interfere any further and to leave everything in the hands of the building authority, which is proceeding exactly according to the law. However, not all council members were in favor; three councilors from the Association for Pardubice did not vote for the land lease.
"It is not true that the additional construction permit depends only on our land. There are many issues regarding transportation that the builder must resolve, without which they will not receive the additional construction permit," said Krejčíř.
Managing director Petr Dědek stated that his company should sign the lease agreement with the city by the end of the week. All permits must be completed by the end of the year. Dědek expects to finish the first warehouse hall by the end of April. In total, he plans to build five.
Dědek additionally mentioned today that councilor Miroslav Petráň (Association for Pardubice) requested sponsorship for the Horse Racing Society and a share in the project. "This is absolute nonsense," Dědek rejected Petráň's claims. "Everyone here in this city knows that I have already fired several people who attempted to bribe me, and I will do it again," he stated.
Meanwhile, the company is also deciding whether to file a criminal complaint against Petráň because, according to them, he is hindering the additional construction permit with his comments. Petráň defends himself by saying that he wants to ensure that the company complies with the technical parameters of the access road. As of now, it reportedly does not meet the planned traffic requirements.
"I feel it is my duty to represent the interests of the citizens of the city. Not even the first hall can be opened, as it has serious deficiencies in many areas," said Petráň, who is a professional architect.
The builder ceremoniously commenced construction of the transshipment facility last September. They have been trying to legalize it for several months now. The first hall is supposed to be occupied by the company DB Schenker, which placed an order with the developer. They were supposed to move in as early as this September, and according to Krejčíř, it is still being decided whether they will remain in the project. The entire complex is expected to cost the developer nearly one billion crowns.
For the legalization of the warehouse construction worth 100 million crowns, it is said that Prague Mayor Pavel Bém lobbied, according to earlier reports from ČT and iDnes. The company is co-owned by Bém's friend Zbyněk Kareš, who previously rented a villa in Prague's Vokovice from Bém, allegedly under favorable conditions. Bém has denied his intervention.
