He studied at the Faculty of Architecture of the Czech Technical University in Prague (1995) and subsequently at the School of Architecture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (1997). During his studies, he was a co-founder of the group Nová česká práce, which significantly shaped the Czech architectural scene in the 1990s and opened up space for new approaches and experiments. In 1995, after winning the competition for the redesign of Horní náměstí (Upper Square) in Olomouc, he founded his own studio. Successes in other competitions – particularly for the redesign of Jiřské náměstí at Prague Castle (1997) and for the Archiepiscopal Museum in Olomouc (1998) – led to the establishment of the atelier HŠH architekti in 1999, where he was active until 2009. He then founded his own office Šépka architekti, which he continues to lead today. Since 2004, he has also been involved in education. He taught at the Faculty of Architecture of the Czech Technical University in Prague, later led the Atelier A1 at the Academy of Applied Arts in Prague, and currently runs a studio at the Faculty of Arts and Architecture of the Technical University in Liberec. He is known for his experimental and innovative approach to architecture. In 2019, the monograph /Inspirace/, dedicated to his work, was published. Some of his most well-known realized projects include the spatial structure in Beroun, Villa Hermína, the redesign of the castle area in Litomyšl, the design of the National Library in Prague, the landscape room in Modrava, the house in the fruit garden, the house in a steel corset, the installation Perception in České Budějovice, and the projects GAMPA and Sféra in Pardubice.
