Vsetín will open the bus station and the repaired Nádražní Street at the end of the holidays

Vsetín – At the end of the summer holidays, Vsetín will open a new bus station and a renovated Nádražní street. After almost five years, this will conclude the main part of extensive construction works and related traffic restrictions in the city center. The focus was primarily on the reconstruction of the train station and the area in front of and behind it. Investments from several entities, particularly in transport infrastructure, have reached approximately four billion crowns during this time, stated Michal Horský from the Vsetín city hall in today's press release.

The reconstructed Nádražní street and the newly built bus station will be put into operation by the city on Sunday, August 30. The ceremonial completion of this phase of the modernization of the transport terminal with a program for the public will take place a day later. "This is one of the most significant investment projects in the modern history of the city. The result is a modern transport hub that will fundamentally improve the comfort of passengers and the smoothness of traffic," said Mayor Jiří Čunek (KDU-ČSL).

The bus station is located between the railway, the transport terminal, and the parking garage. It will offer seven stands for suburban transport connections and parking spaces for buses. Public transport (MHD) connections will now serve stops directly on Nádražní street and will no longer enter the bus station area.

From August 30, passengers must anticipate adjustments to the entire MHD concept along with the opening of the bus station. Several new lines will be created, some existing ones will run a different route, and lines will also be renumbered. People will benefit from new stops on Nádražní street and Na Deltě street. The Sychrov stop will be relocated to the main road in front of the residential area. However, the fare tariffs for MHD will remain unchanged.

"New will be the introduction of stops on demand in MHD, which have already proven successful in suburban connections. This measure aims to contribute to smoother traffic, reduce noise pollution, ensure more precise adherence to timetables, and limit emissions," Horský stated. Passengers should be on time at the stop and well visible to the driver when boarding, and when exiting, they need to signal the driver to stop by pressing the Stop button.

The changes also include the termination of the waiting room operation in the tower building as of August 30. Passengers will use the waiting room in the transport terminal. More information is available on the city’s website.
