In an orchard in the middle of the Highlands, a house was created with custom-designed storage stoves as a key element. The realization from AR masonry combines Austrian ceramics from Sommerhuber, modern combustion regulation technology, and traditional masonry craftsmanship. The result is not only a functional source of healthy radiant heat but also a distinctive architectural element that harmoniously complements the contemporary interior and supports energy self-sufficiency.
Although these stoves are a striking design element, according to Petr Kožený, who participated in their construction, it is important to realize that they are primarily a source of radiant heat, creating a natural and healthy climate in the interior. "In this case, we worked with Hoxter stove technology and Austrian ceramics from Sommerhuber, which is a proven combination for achieving high efficiency and long lifespan," he specifies.
A characteristic feature of these stoves is the ceramic tiles with fine grooving and dark glaze, which not only aesthetically complement the interior but also help to distribute heat efficiently. "Every detail was carefully consulted with the investor – from the type of glaze to the grain size of the plaster forming the stove's casing. The result is a unique design that fits perfectly into the space," adds Petr Kožený from AR masonry.
Heat accumulation for long-term comfort
The heat storage capability of the stoves allows users to heat efficiently – the heat is stored in the accumulation material and gradually released into the room. This process creates pleasant radiant heat, considered the healthiest form of heating.
"The investor's requirement was clear – the stoves must operate almost continuously, while also being low maintenance. That’s why we chose electronic combustion control, which allows for precise regulation," explains Petr Kožený.
Traditional kitchen element in a modern interpretation
The stoves serve not only as a heat source but also as a practical helper in the kitchen thanks to the cooking hob. "Many customers appreciate the ability to use the stove for cooking – not only does it cozy up the interior, but it also enriches modern living with a traditional element. Another undeniable advantage of the stoves is ensuring household independence during power outages or gas supply disruptions," concludes Petr Kožený.
The family house in Nové Sady is an example of how traditional values and craftsmanship can be combined with the latest technologies. The stoves here are not just heaters, but also an architectural element that brings uniqueness and creates a distinctive atmosphere in the space.
