One of the main innovations this year from VEKA, a leading manufacturer of top-class A plastic window and door profiles, is the completely redesigned lifting-sliding door systems VEKAMOTION 82 and VEKAMOTION 82 MAX. Both boast an exceptionally slim profile, generous light transmission, and very easy processing and assembly.

Today's efforts by architects to maximize interior lighting with the help of large-format elements have led to a boom in lifting-sliding doors in both the Czech and European markets. Especially those made from slim profiles that also offer barrier-free transitions. VEKA is responding to this trend with the new generation of lifting-sliding doors VEKAMOTION 82, which will replace the previous VEKASLIDE 82 and VEKASLIDE 70.

Compared to older types of door systems, VEKAMOTION 82 offers profiles that are up to 20 percent slimmer, resulting in a larger glass area. With the help of this product, including its design variant VEKAMOTION 82 MAX, it is possible to implement modern large-format designs and achieve perfectly illuminated interiors. Additionally, VEKAMOTION 82 is barrier-free and meets safety and water protection requirements.

Steel Reinforcements and Thinner Frames

To achieve high strength even in large plastic frames, VEKAMOTION 82 features generously dimensioned internal reinforcements. The frame, with a width of 62 millimeters and a construction depth of 194 millimeters, has two mutually separated steel chambers, into which 60 × 40 millimeter steel reinforcements can be inserted, which are also used in the Softline 76 and 82 systems. "The use of plastic profiles and traditional steel reinforcements means greater strength and lower costs, as aluminum profiles do not need to be used," emphasizes Milan Klepsa, the main representative of VEKA for the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Thanks to compact fittings, which were previously only used in wooden and aluminum structures, the height of the frame has been reduced to 86 mm and the center post to 92 mm. Similarly, the groove in the profile, which is essential for installation, could also be minimized. "This, in turn, allowed for improvements in reinforcements, and thus better load capacity of the elements," explains Klepsa. The door system can of course be fitted with commonly available fittings.

Quality Thermal Insulation

With an overall construction depth reaching Uf = 1.3 W/m²K, the system can accommodate modern triple glazing up to a thickness of 54 millimeters. Large-volume seals and two-component sealing parts ensure sealing up to level 9A. "This is achieved through reliable sealing between the sill, frame, and leaf. The seals are connected through vulcanized corners, creating a solid bond," says Milan Klepsa.

A New Standard for Classic and Barrier-Free Structures

When developing this door system, emphasis was placed primarily on ease of processing and assembly. Both were designed in close cooperation with manufacturers. For instance, in the case of the sill, the manufacturer can choose between a protective tread profile in two designs, allowing for easy production of either a standard or barrier-free variant.

Nearly Frameless Appearance

With just three additional profiles, door manufacturers can expand their VEKAMOTION 82 range with the design variant VEKAMOTION 82 MAX. One of its great advantages is the ability to use a threshold profile for the entire frame. Visually stunning is also the height of the inner profile of the fixed leaf – only 28 millimeters. The fixed leaf can be optionally glazed at the factory, or glass can be installed externally directly on the construction site. "The new construction of the frames also allows for nearly complete coverage with plaster, achieving an almost frameless appearance," concludes Milan Klepsa.
