The Libuše Town Hall will pay over 187 million for the repair and extension of the school in Písnice

Prague – The local council of the Prague-Libuš district will pay 187.47 million crowns excluding VAT for the reconstruction of the school in Písnice and its extension. The contract was awarded to the Brno-based company ESOX, which submitted the lowest bid, as reported in the public procurement bulletin and on the district's website. Thanks to the extension, the school's capacity is expected to increase from 150 students to 360. The extension is planned to include a gymnasium and a canteen. This is included in the architectural design by the studio Rusina Frei Architekti.

Twelve bidders registered for the tender. The estimated price was about 226 million CZK excluding VAT. The only evaluation criterion was the offered price.

According to the contract, ESOX has 28 months to complete the new part of the school from the handover of the construction site. Once this phase is completed, all students will move into the new school building, and the company will have six months to renovate the historic building from 1888. The extension will be connected to the existing school building. The new part of the school will include classrooms, facilities for teachers, a gym, and a canteen with a kitchen.

The Prague-Libuš district is located in the southern part of Prague, home to approximately 10,800 people. The local council manages two primary schools. According to a demographic study from 2020, the number of students in schools in the district is increasing. Between 2009 and 2019, it nearly doubled. By 2043, the population of Libuš is expected to increase to about 15,500.
