Autodesk and Avatech Solutions deliver the Revit platform to HDR

Autodesk, a global leader in 2D and 3D design software for manufacturing, construction, media, and entertainment, along with Avatech Solutions, a premium provider of Autodesk solutions, announce that HDR has adopted the Revit platform among its tools using BIM (Building Information Modeling) methods. The Revit platform will increase productivity and enhance collaboration among various professions in the design field across the company. HDR has signed a 3-year contract worth several million dollars, which includes nearly 1,800 licenses of Autodesk software and consulting services provided by both Autodesk and Avatech Solutions. In addition to the Revit platform, the agreement also includes licenses for AutoCAD Architecture and AutoCAD MEP software products.
“HDR has been using BIM methods for over three years,” says Brandt Karstens, Vice President and Director of the Architecture Division at HDR. “The Revit platform fully embraces three-dimensional BIM modeling and database access. For our design activities, we also use AutoCAD Architecture and AutoCAD MEP solutions. Specifically, these relate to areas of water management, environment, and commercial classification for resource management. HDR’s management team views the new agreement and Autodesk’s BIM tools as key drivers to achieving our goal of fully operating based on BIM methodology by the end of 2010.”
