DOX - Center for Contemporary Art invites you to a series of accompanying programs Cafe DOX (presentations, discussions, and lectures). The events take place in the restaurant or café of the DOX Center, Poupětova 1, Prague 7. The programs start at 18:00, unless stated otherwise.

June 9 Urban Interventions: Live performance by the authors for the exhibition Urban Interventions Prague 2010
Event starts at 19:00
In connection with the organization of the exhibition Urban Interventions Prague 2010, a series of accompanying evenings with live performances by the authors is prepared. About sixty teams from the Czech Republic and Slovakia will participate in the project. Each of them may present their proposals and thought processes that led to the selection of a specific location, theme, and its subsequent processing within a ten-minute projection.
The evening will feature: "BI" - students of FA STU, BLACK BACK, ROBUST & Cyril Říha, BEEF, T2TT/KOLMO architects, ARTKIOSK / Veronika Jiroušková, Qubus/ Maxim Velčovský, Milan Houser

June 14 Lecture by Alan Záruba: Books, brands, exhibition, and lectures for Jan Kaplický
The lecture offers a summary of publications and typographic applications that have arisen in collaboration with Jan Kaplický or in connection with his work and persona since 2005. It does not only consist of the results, but a substantial part will also be devoted to the process of creating individual projects from explaining sources of inspiration to sketches and prototypes up to the final solutions. Part of the lecture will also be dedicated to the preparation and presentation of Jan Kaplický's presentations and lectures.
Alan Záruba - graphic designer, expert journalist, and educator at VŠUP. He specializes in graphic design, corporate design, and TV graphics, as well as professional publication, curatorial, and publishing activities.

June 17 Discussion on the topic: Jan Kaplický through the eyes of generations
A meeting of several generations and their approaches, attitudes, and opinions on the work of Jan Kaplický.
The discussion will include, for example: Mgr. Akad. Arch. Roman Brychta, Ing. Arch. Marek Chalupa, Jan Kalfus, Ing. Arch. Monika Mitášová, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Architecture CTU Prof. Ing. Arch. Zdeněk Zavřel, and others.

June 21 Lecture by Miloš Florián: The Work of Jan Kaplický from the Perspective of Construction
An overview of the work of architect Jan Kaplický to the present in relation to known construction systems.
Ing. Arch. Miloš Florián, PhD: works at the Faculty of Architecture CTU in Prague. His main area of interest is glass as a construction material, intelligent building envelopes, free-form structures, CAD/CAM technology, and nanotechnology. He participates in the scientific-research activities of CTU. Since October 2004, he has been leading the FLO(W) studio.

Admission: 60 CZK, reduced admission for students of art schools: 40 CZK (if students are in a group with a teacher, the teacher has free entry).
