Rakovník - Rakovník will prepare a project for the reconstruction of the central Hus Square, for which a study has been ready for over ten years. Now it wants to take advantage of the upcoming European grants for similar investments, which are to be allocated in the period from 2021 to 2027. The city leadership has now selected a company to carry out the project work on the basis of a territorial study, stated today in a press release spokesperson of the Rakovník town hall, Kateřina Hradilová.
The previously prepared proposal includes the entire area of Hus Square, including the connecting roads and entrances, Žižka Square, the eastern part of Martinovská Street, and the southern part of V Hradbách Street. "The long-term intention is to comprehensively solve the public space of the urban heritage zone as a whole, in terms of aesthetics, operational functionality, and traffic," Hradilová stated. The city aims to create an attractive environment in its center for both local residents and visitors. The expected costs for the complete reconstruction of the square will be known after the project is developed.
According to the spokesperson, it will be necessary in the near future to replace a significant part of the sewage system in the square and also to repair or supplement other engineering networks that are at the end of their lifespan. At the same time, the reconstruction of several buildings in the square will create a multipurpose community center, and the area in front of it will also undergo adjustments. The reconstruction of the square could thus follow the necessary work.
