Prague - Prague councilors today approved the concept for the transformation of Bělohorská Street in Prague 6. The study determines the overall use of public space in the street and the modifications of crossings. The material was prepared by the Institute of Planning and Development (IPR). The transformation is expected to occur in the coming years. Estimated costs are over 200 million crowns. In recent months, the city has also commissioned a study for the transformation of Vinohradská Street in Prague 2.

The planned reconstruction concerns the section between the intersections with Patočkova and Dlabačov streets. Barrier-free crossings should be created, and the passage for cyclists and paths for pedestrians are set to improve. Local residents will be able to raise comments regarding the reconstruction.

The study was created based on the public transport company's (DPP) plan for the reconstruction of the tram track. However, DPP did not address the overall transformation of the street, as it does not fall within its competencies. The aim of the study is to coordinate all future modifications in the street - specific individual projects will be developed later.

The exact cost of the reconstruction has not yet been specified. According to the document approved by the councilors today, the costs could range between 220 to 260 million crowns. However, the specific price will only be known from the individual projects.
