Prague - Prague is preparing to completely reconstruct and redesign Klapkova, Bělohorská, and Vinohradská streets. In the near future, Prague's councilors will approve the assignment of a conceptual study for the reconstruction of Klapkova. Local residents will participate in the design of all renovations, said Deputy Mayor Matěj Stropnický to ČTK. It is not yet clear when the streets will be rebuilt and how much it will cost. The city already has a completed project for the reconstruction of Vinohradská.

The transport company is now preparing a reconstruction of the tram line on Klapkova street. "This was precisely the impetus for us to decide to propose to people to change the entire appearance and discuss with them what they want there, and then adjust the street according to the results," said Stropnický. The councilors are expected to approve the study assignment in the coming weeks.
The city wants to proceed in the same way with the reconstruction of Bělohorská. Although the tram tracks have already been repaired here, according to Stropnický, they will not be removed. "However, the rest of the street needs to be completed," he said.
The city is working with local residents on the reconstruction of Vinohradská avenue. "The public was already invited at the intention phase, now another round of discussion will take place," said Stropnický.
According to the current proposal, sidewalks on Vinohradská are to be widened, bins and benches will be added, and some stops will be relocated. The repair concerns Vinohradská between the intersection behind the Museum and the Želivského station. The reconstruction is expected to take place between 2017 and 2018. The cost is still unclear.
