Prague, November 5 (ČTK) - Prague wants to develop a study for the complete reconstruction of Vinohradská Street in Prague 2 and 3. This will include, among other things, the repair of the tram track, Jiřího z Poděbrad Square, and the park at Jiřího z Lobkovic Square. The Prague council has tasked the Institute of Planning and Development (IPR) with preparing the document. ČTK learned this from the materials approved by the council. The reconstruction should concern Vinohradská in the section between the intersection with Legerova Street and the intersection with Jana Želivského. The reason for preparing the study, according to the material, is several significant repairs that are planned here in the future - these include the mentioned reconstruction of the tram track, the repair of Jiřího z Poděbrad Square, and landscape adjustments at Jiřího z Lobkovic Square. The goal of the study is to create an overall concept of the spatial arrangement considering these adjustments and at the same time achieve financial savings. "By rigorous coordination, higher efficiency and purposefulness of the financial resources expended will undoubtedly be achieved," states the material. The study is to be completed no later than the end of July 2015. Vinohradská Street received its current name in the 1960s according to the vineyards that once existed in the area. The street is over four kilometers long and starts at the National Museum in Prague 1, leading through Vinohrady and Žižkov to Strašnice.
