Hradec Králové - The city of Hradec Králové has started the construction of a new sports hall in the Pouchov district for 46.8 million crowns excluding VAT. It will be built by the Pardubice company STYLBAU on the site of the old wooden sokolovna, which the city previously had demolished. The new hall is expected to be completed by August 2021. Six companies entered the tender, and STYLBAU offered the lowest price.

"According to the contract, the contractor has 16 months for the construction and final inspection," said the deputy mayor for investments Jiří Bláha (ODS). The construction of the gymnasium in the Pouchov district has been in preparation for several years. The city will seek a grant from the Ministry of Education to finance the construction.

The sports hall, covering the area of two volleyball courts with the parameters of a modern gymnasium and facilities for athletes, will have a parking lot with 46 spaces. The hall is designed for 45 participants and 60 spectators. Its main user is expected to be TJ Sokol Pouchov Hradec Králové, which has about 350 active athletes.

The main investment of the city in sports facilities remains the delayed construction of a football arena on the site of the partially demolished multisport stadium. The city plans to announce the fourth tender for the contractor in June. The price is expected to be a maximum of 605 million crowns excluding VAT.
