Prague, December 1, 2008 - The fourth edition of the Wood Construction Salon, the largest Czech showcase of wooden architecture, will take place from February 26 to March 1, 2009, at the Prague Exhibition Grounds in Letňany as a supplementary program to the Wood Construction 2009 fair. The program of the Wood Construction Salon 2009 builds on the success of last year's edition, and visitors can look forward again to an exhibition of unique Czech wooden constructions, a series of lectures, film screenings, and a new Yearbook of Wooden Constructions. Architects and architectural studios still have the opportunity to submit their projects for participation in the Wood Construction Salon 2009. What is required to apply to the Salon? If you have completed an interesting wooden construction project this year, please send preview materials (basic photo + brief description of the building) by the deadline of December 15, 2008 to the email t.kvasova@prodesi.cz. We will confirm your participation promptly and subsequently request high-quality materials for printing posters and the Yearbook of Wooden Constructions, which will be published as a recap of the projects in the Wood Construction Salon. Please note that the Wood Construction Salon is a non-competitive exhibition, and the organizers reserve the right to select projects that align with the focus of the Salon (it is a showcase of modern contemporary wooden architecture). At the Salon itself, the exhibited buildings are presented on large-format banners. The exhibiting participants have the opportunity to design the specific appearance of each poster (photographs, floor plans, descriptions of the building, etc.) and can thus emphasize the aspects of the building they consider most important. The costs associated with producing the banners are covered by the exhibition organizer.
If you are interested in presenting your buildings at the Wood Construction Salon 2009, please contact the organizers at the provided address. The application deadline is December 15, 2008.
