Ondřej Císler, the publishing house Arbor vitae and Gallery VI PER cordially invite you to the launch of the book „Baroque Minimalism“. The book is a visual essay interpreting the architectural creation of the prominent mid-generation figure Ondřej Císler (1972) through his own text, photographs of realizations, and other visual accompaniment. The motivation for the creation of the book is his personal experience with the majority of orally transmitted theoretical thoughts of our leading architects (Šrámková, Přikryl, Bočan...) and the authored texts of prominent world architects (Kahn, Zumthor, Caruso, Šik...). This oral tradition represents a surprisingly coherent and vibrant source code of work for contemporary architecture creators. Císler's thorough study of 20th-century Czech architecture is, of course, an essential aspect. It is worth noting that our current architectural scene essentially lacks authored texts by practicing architects, with a few honorable exceptions. The quality of architectural heritage and its diversity thus serve as an appropriate backdrop for the contemporary creator while also being a commitment to fulfilling the imperative of complete architectural creation: "To build, teach, and write." Concept: Ondřej Císler, Klára Kvízová Texts: Petr Borkovec, Ondřej Císler, Tomáš Hříbek Translation: Marek Procházka The book was published by the publishing house Arbor vitae
