Žacléř - The Hradec Králové Region has acquired a state subsidy of 61 million crowns for the construction of a retirement home in Žacléř in the Trutnov region. The construction of the home with 52 social beds began last September and is expected to cost a total of 145 million crowns. The home is being created by converting a former miners' hostel in Žacléř. Martina Svatoňová from the Hradec Králové Regional Office said this today.

Organizationally, the new facility will be part of the Retirement Home in nearby Lampertice, which will thus double its capacity to 104 beds. The construction of the Žacléř retirement home should be completed by spring 2022.

In Žacléř, seniors will have single and double rooms with their own shower and toilet available. Each of the five floors will have bathrooms equipped with massage baths accessible to immobile clients. To facilitate handling less mobile clients, up to 60 percent of the beds will be equipped with a ceiling-mounted support system. In addition to permanent beds for people with senile dementia, the home will also offer temporary respite stays for seniors cared for by families at home.

In addition to Žacléř, the Hradec Králové Region is currently building or expanding retirement homes in Tmavý Důl, Opočno, and Borohrádek. With an estimated cost of about 533 million crowns, 206 beds for seniors and clients with Alzheimer’s disease will be created. The region has received subsidies from the state amounting to 206 million crowns for these constructions. Through these investments, the region is fulfilling its plan to create 1,000 beds in retirement homes by 2026. Currently, the region has around 2,500 beds in senior facilities, which is insufficient to meet growing needs.
