The French certificate measuring emissions Émissions dans l’air intérieur, class A+ is the highest rating. France has introduced mandatory labeling of products according to the amount of volatile organic compound emissions. This labeling applies to insulation, floors, floor coverings, wallpaper, wall materials, as well as paints, varnishes, adhesives, etc. Limits are set for total emissions of volatile organic compounds and 10 chemical compounds: such as formaldehyde, toluene, styrene, xylene. The Finnish certificate M1 tracks total emissions of volatile organic compounds (TVOC), emissions of formaldehyde and ammonia, carcinogenic substances, and odor. |
