Kährs Life Authentic: When a wooden floor is the spice of the interior

"These are attractive, natural, warmer shades; even the bleached ones have a hint of brown. Thanks to the gentle brushing, which emphasizes the structure of the wood both visually and to the touch, the floor feels as if it were made of solid wood. Although it is a three-layer wooden floor with a veneer, the wear layer of wood is 0.6 mm. The trendy ultra-matte lacquer looks like an oiled surface, but does not require regular maintenance like oil does. The decors undoubtedly create the impression of a more expensive floor," offered praise for the new collection from the oldest European manufacturer of wooden coverings, Aleš Viktorin, regional sales manager of Kratochvíl parket profi.

Pure decors, with minimal knots and irregularities, which are always the most expensive in wooden floors, in the new collection are priced around 1390 CZK/m² excluding VAT, compared to the more common prices around three thousand. "Sorting wood for pure decors is more demanding, the yield from the tree is lower, you need more trunks, which is why pure decors are always more expensive," explains Aleš Viktorin from KPP. However, since Kährs utilizes wood in an efficient manner and the wear layer is 0.6 mm, the Kährs Life Authentic collection remains affordable. While the wear layer does not allow for sanding, it is compensated by a durable lacquer layer that significantly extends the unchanging appearance of the surface and the lifespan of the floors in this new range. For those who prefer a more rustic floor, this collection also includes three decors in a livelier sorting called Dynamic.

In addition to the design, Aleš Viktorin from KPP also highlights the technical properties of the nearly two-meter boards of Kährs Life Authentic with a construction height of only 10 mm and significant resistance to point loading thanks to the center supporting layer made of HDF. "The surface is less susceptible to pressure marks, such as from shoes with sharp heels, due to the high-density HDF backing," explains Aleš Viktorin from KPP. The construction height of just 10 mm enhances the efficiency of underfloor heating and is suitable for renovations where every millimeter of height is usually saved. "At the same time, a thickness of 10 mm is also ideal for new buildings, where it is necessary to connect the covering to tiles, which usually also have a construction height of 10 mm, creating a smooth plane between the rooms," continues Aleš Viktorin from KPP.

The structure of the Kährs Life Authentic three-layer wooden covering consists of a bottom layer made from the highest quality wood, an HDF board with a 5G locking joint for installation without expansion joints up to an area of 25 × 15 m (following manufacturer instructions), followed by another layer of real wood protected by a highly durable ultra-matte lacquer. The core made of a new generation hard HDF board also guarantees increased resistance of the floor to impact, stability during temperature and humidity fluctuations in the interior. It also elevates oak to the level of exotic woods in terms of hardness according to the Brinell scale. For this reason, the Kährs Life Authentic collection is suitable for commercial spaces with demanding traffic, such as hotels, restaurants, and shops. This is also supported by the fire safety class Bfl-s1, the highest in the Kährs decor offering, which is a safety standard required for escape corridors in public buildings.


The Oak Ginger Plank in a light and warm shade of ginger brings a pleasant atmosphere to every room. The natural beauty of the wood is highlighted by its unique grain, which creates an authentic design of a natural wooden floor.

The Oak Nutmeg emphasizes the timeless beauty of natural oak. The natural grain of the wood and its warm tones create a classic appearance that adds elegance and simplicity to the interior.

Stained oak Cloves brings depth and warmth to every interior. The smoky tones enhance the natural grain of the wood, creating a sophisticated and cozy atmosphere. This floor adds a touch of elegance and timelessness to the space.

Oak Cumin offers softly gray shades inspired by cumin tones, complementing the modern design of the interior. They create a calm atmosphere while the natural grain of the wood adds depth and character.

This light floor in turmeric tones brings rustic charm with a higher occurrence of knots. The natural texture of the wood gives each board uniqueness and creates a pleasant yet vibrant atmosphere in the interior.

Oak Cardamon brings rustic design with pronounced knots and wood grain. The floor is not color-stained, which emphasizes the pure beauty of oak and gives the space a completely natural charm and pleasant atmosphere.
