Premium interior doors – current trends

Currently, there is a clear shift from doors as standalone elements to their full integration into interior architecture. Doors are no longer dominant; they become part of the whole and the emotional atmosphere of the space. The trend features flush door frames, hidden hinges, magnetic locks, and door heights up to the ceiling. The company JAP FUTURE has been closely monitoring these trends for a long time and responds to them with technological development and design innovations.

Minimalism and "invisible doors"

Minimalism undoubtedly dominates current design. Not as a fashion trend, but as a life approach free from excess, emphasizing clean lines, proportions, and material authenticity.
The so-called "invisible doors" eliminate frames, casings, and visible hinges. Doors merge with the surrounding wall by using hidden frames and are often finished with the same plaster, wallpaper, or wooden covering. "I am sure architects appreciate when this solution creates a calm surface without visual noise, making the space appear larger and more refined. This trend is particularly settling in high-end residential projects," specifies PaedDr. Petr Paksi, DBA, managing director of JAP FUTURE.

Doors in atypical heights as a standard

One of the most prominent global trends is working with door heights. Architects and interior designers increasingly work with atypical dimensions, especially height from floor to ceiling. JAP FUTURE has developed a door frame construction made of anodized aluminum that ensures stability even with large formats. "Thanks to this patent, we can produce premium MASTER doors in atypical dimensions down to millimeters and with a maximum height of up to 3,700 mm. Doors at such heights emphasize the verticality of the space and support the monumental character of the interior," adds PaedDr. Petr Paksi, DBA.

Glass and Transparency

Another strong trend is the emphasis on glass and metal. Glass doors with delicate aluminum frames or subtle divisions respond to the need to connect spaces while maintaining acoustic or visual control. The brand JAP has long been developing technology for large format glass and delicate vertical or horizontal aluminum profiles in various compositions, which has resulted in separate model series of doors IDEA DOOR and DIVA DOOR. Experts thus gain a tool to introduce rhythm, proportional order, or references to industrial aesthetics into the interior without losing lightness and transparency.
An interesting alternative of the IDEA DOOR series is the WOOD model, where the aluminum frame is clad in veneer with walnut or oak decor, which corresponds to the current demand for a warmer variant of execution.

Variability without Compromises

"I believe in a vision where even greater emphasis will be placed on details, more delicate frames, precise connections of materials, and clever construction solutions without visible joints," predicts PaedDr. Petr Paksi, DBA for the future and concludes: "Technologies will serve design, not the other way around. The premium segment will shift towards maximum personalization and technical solutions that will allow architects to realize even very bold concepts without compromises." japfuture.cz
