The next edition of the international architectural competition “FAKRO inspires – space for new visions” is intended for architects and, for the first time in history, also for architecture students. For 7 years, the competition has enjoyed great interest from architects all over the world. The organizers of the competition are FAKRO – the world's second-largest manufacturer of roof windows and A10 – an international architectural magazine. The patron of this year's competition is AUTODESK – a manufacturer of programs for architects.
This year's edition of the “FAKRO inspires – space for new visions” competition is divided into two parts – one for architects and another for architecture students. Architects are tasked with creating a visualization of the renovation of an existing public building (office, hospital, school, manufacturing hall, etc.). Architecture students will design a residence.
“The projects must take into account FAKRO products. The rich FAKRO offer provides wide application and inspires the creation of innovative,
interesting, and original solutions,” comments Malgorzata Respekta-Paszkiewiccz, the competition coordinator. The organizers are – considering past editions – convinced that the end result will be exceptional, and roof windows, windows for flat roofs, attic stairs, or various accessories for FAKRO windows will enhance every competition project. Aesthetics is only one side of the coin; participants must strive for a result that is functional, energy-efficient, and full of light.
Valuable prizes await the winners of the “FAKRO inspires – space for new visions” competition. The best architect will receive 5000 €, the winner of second place will receive 3000 €, and third place will be awarded 2000 €. The winners from among students in the 1st and 2nd places will receive an AutoCad Revit LT Suite license and a voucher for a tour of the FAKRO company with participation in a discussion panel. An additional 8 awarded students will receive a voucher.
