Prague - The Sparta Prague Club will build a new football stadium in Krč near the South Connector, next to the baseball complex. It will meet UEFA criteria and have a capacity of 5,000 spectators. It is intended for the B team's matches, the women's A team, and youth training sessions. It is expected to be completed in 2029, with costs estimated at around one billion crowns, which will be covered by the club. This was stated today by the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of AC Sparta Prague, František Čupr, and the Mayor of Prague 4, Ondřej Kubín (ODS), during the signing of the memorandum with Prague 4.

The stadium will be part of the so-called Sports Valley, located between Branická Street and the South Connector. Currently, it hosts the baseball club Eagles Prague, the tennis club Konstruktiva, the volleyball club Braník, and the football clubs Meteor Kačerov and ABC Braník.

In addition to the stadium, the complex will also include two training pitches, one with artificial turf and one with natural grass, as well as administrative and sports facilities. The club has already signed purchase agreements with the landowners and has started designing the stadium. "The construction of modern football infrastructure primarily intended for young Sparta players is a key element of our club's sustainable future. At the same time, we are ready to offer this facility to the football association as a base for the women's national A team and possibly other youth national teams," Čupr stated.

The project will also include a parking lot, a new bridge over the Kunratický Stream, improvements to the bike path, and the renewal of pathways. "Revitalization of Branická Street and the access roads to the stadium is planned. They will be widened to include sidewalks to ensure comfort for both arrivals and pedestrians. All lands have been acquired by Sparta, so the vast majority of investments will be on its account," said Kubín.

According to Kubín, the new stadium will contribute not only to the development of sports but also to the overall cultivation of the area along the South Connector, which still partly consists of brownfields.

Last May, the city council took over neglected lands along the Kunratický Stream measuring approximately 8,000 square meters. They demolished a dilapidated building that had been used by homeless people. It will be replaced by a park with public sports facilities.
