Znojmo - After several unsuccessful attempts, Znojmo found an interested party for the Malá Louka area, where apartment buildings are planned for the future. The local company AC Solution acquired it for 65.7 million crowns. It is supposed to ensure the construction according to the approved regulatory plan, which includes seven apartment buildings, five villa buildings, and two terrace houses, said city spokesperson Zuzana Pastrňáková in a press release.
"I am glad that we managed to find an investor. The construction of new apartments will help improve the situation in the real estate market. The supply of apartments will be greater, which may positively affect their price. So that Znojmo residents could acquire new housing at more favorable prices," stated mayor Jan Grois (ČSSD).
The regulatory plan states that a total of 266 apartments are to be built in all the mentioned buildings, although developers typically adjust the number and sizes of apartments according to customer interest. The five-hectare Malá Louka is the last buildable area near the city center. It lies between Vídeňská and Brněnská streets. By the end of this year, the owner of the adjacent plots must also build the transport infrastructure. In addition to the buildings, the regulatory plan includes public greenery, a meeting place for people, and a recreational area.
The city previously offered the land for 100 million, but no interested parties came forward repeatedly. Smaller plots under the City Forest remain of no interest, where Znojmo plans to have both family and apartment houses built according to the regulatory plan.
Znojmo also hopes that the new construction will prevent people from moving to the countryside, where it is easier to build a house and then commute to work in the city. After Brno, Znojmo is the second most populous city in the region with nearly 34,000 inhabitants.
