The contract for the Brno ČT studio will be delayed, a commission member has resigned

Czech Television took this step due to suspicions of bias of one member of the evaluation committee. "It concerns a representative of the company INVESTINŽENÝRING, a. s., which was awarded a public contract by Czech Television in 2008, among other things for the performance of technical supervision activities, and that is why its employee was nominated to the evaluation committee," said Dvořák. Specifically, according to the head of ČT, it was discovered that the chairman of the supervisory board of this company is the son of the chairman of the supervisory board of one of the ten applicants who entered the tender.
A member of the evaluation committee resigned at its meeting today. Although the other members stated that doubts did not affect its proceedings and that the law on public procurement was not violated, Czech Television will repeat the entire evaluation. According to Dvořák, the extension of the entire contract could thus be about three to four months. "It will probably not cost us anything, because all the costs we pay within the contract are paid for the entire contract," Cimirot added.
Lawyers, according to Dvořák, assessed whether there were reasons to cancel the entire contract. "In their opinion, there are none, and we will not cancel the contract," said Dvořák. However, the evaluation of the so-called qualification of applicants must also be repeated, because this committee operated in the same composition.
The new studio in the Líšeň area of Zetor was previously estimated to be completed in the spring of 2015. However, the current situation again prolongs the investment.
