Prague - A senior home will be established in Prague 6, not far from Vítězné náměstí, which will serve people from the theater and music industry. In an interview with ČTK, Božena Jirků, the director of the Charta 77 Foundation, stated this. The local government is cooperating on the project. Mayor Marie Kousalíková (ODS) mentioned that the municipal district has requested the city hall to entrust the house and surrounding land to them.
    The foundation and the local government have signed a memorandum in which the foundation committed to securing funds for the reconstruction of the building, while the municipal district will ensure its operation. In the building, which served until last year as the Home for Seniors Eliška Purkyňová, 80 beds for seniors will be created.
    "There are many significant artists who have no place to spend their peaceful old age. The House of the Four Muses will be intended for them," Jirků stated. "The support of the local government is essential for us. Without it, the project could not come into existence," she added.
    The mayor expects that the senior home will not only serve for accommodation and leisure activities. It will also include advisory services in the areas of social, health, and legal matters.
    The decision on the transfer of the buildings to the ownership of the municipal district will be made by the council of the city of Prague. According to Jirků, the foundation has a preliminary promise from Mayor Tomáš Hudeček (TOP 09) that he will support the transfer of ownership.
