Jablonec nad Nisou - The work on the new Central shopping center in Jablonec nad Nisou is nearing completion. It will welcome its first customers at the turn of March and April, said Ondřej Micka, spokesperson for the development group Crestyl, which is financing the project. On an area of 13,000 square meters of retail space, Central Jablonec will offer nearly 70 stores, with the largest being the Albert supermarket. The center will also feature 200 covered parking spaces.

The construction of the new shopping center between Generála Mrázka and Máchova streets on the site of the old Jabloň department store, two parking lots, and a market has been prepared by Crestyl since 2008. The project was slowed down by the recession. Given the development of the real estate market, the project is ultimately about a quarter smaller in terms of retail space than originally planned. In addition to the outdated Jabloň, the old gymnasium and the wooden restaurant Koliba also had to make way for the construction of the complex.

Demolition work and the construction of the complex significantly complicated life and transport in the city center. This should come to an end with the opening of Central. "We expect that by the opening day we will have nearly 90 percent of the space occupied, which confirms that such a facility is a suitable complement to the center of Jablonec nad Nisou. We believe that with its uniqueness and the complexity of its offerings, Central Jablonec will significantly contribute to improving services and thus the quality of life for the city's residents and its visitors," added the director of the shopping center, Aleš Stupka.

According to him, well-known fashion brands such as H&M, New Yorker, Gate, and Orsay or footwear CCC will not be missing from the shopping center. Intersport, the bookstore Kanzelsberger, and the toy store Pompo will also open their stores there. There will be a pharmacy, drugstore, children's corner, shops for coffee and tea, wine and spirits, flowers, pet supplies, a currency exchange, or a bank. Visitors will also be offered refreshments by the KFC chain and Sakura's with sushi and Asian specialties.
