Prostějov - Near the historic center of Prostějov, a new shopping complex is set to be established. If the prepared project named Galerie Prostějov is approved by the authorities, construction should begin in 2014 and be completed a year later. ČTK obtained this information today from the database assessing the environmental impact of buildings EIA. The project Galerie Prostějov is backed by entrepreneur Richard Morávek, who prepared the construction of the large shopping center Šantovka in Olomouc.
The new shopping complex Galerie Prostějov is to be built near the main Prostějov square T.G. Masaryk in the area between Wolkerova, Komenského, and Křížkovského streets. The planned construction site will cover nearly 16,000 square meters. The Galerie Prostějov shopping center is expected to have two underground and three above-ground floors.
"Galerie Prostějov will be an intimate shopping center where visitors will find dozens of shops with fashion brands, a supermarket, stores selling sports goods, cozy cafes, and quality restaurants and services for the public," the project authors stated.
Approximately 400 people are expected to find employment in the new Galerie Prostějov shopping center. The designers calculated that the complex will be visited daily by around 3,000 people, who will have 431 parking spaces available.
The investor of the Galerie Prostějov project is the company MANTHELLAN, in which Morávek has a stake. The developer is the company DANDREET, owned by the Dutch firm GQ Development. In the case of the construction of the shopping center Šantovka in Olomouc, the investor is the namesake company, which is owned by SMC Development, among whose shareholders is Morávek.
The construction of the new urban district Šantovka in Olomouc, which is being developed on 11 hectares, is set to cost about ten billion Czech korunas. It will include a residential district, the Šantovka shopping center, and an office complex. Architects from the London studio Benoy are participating in the project.
