Blansko - The Town Hall in Blansko is offering for sale the tallest building in the town - an unused ten-story high-rise building. It stands right in the center and needs repairs that, according to rough estimates, will cost 100 million crowns. Companies can submit an application for the sale of the building until March 10. “We expect to see what comes from anyone. If there is no interest in the building, or if we do not find someone reliable who could utilize the property, we will have to take care of it ourselves,” said Blansko's Deputy Mayor Ivo Polák to ČTK today. However, he noted that the city would manage the renovation of the building only with great difficulty without subsidies from the state or the European Union. The building from the 1970s could be converted into a parking garage, hotel, starter apartments for young people, or offices. The city also considered its complete demolition. The property is clad with large glass windows that do not seal properly. Gaps allow airflow, leading to significant heat loss, and additionally, the interiors need modernization. The building is currently empty; it previously housed the tax office.
