Prostějov - The Prostějov city hall will begin the reconstruction of the area in front of the train station in mid-August. It will adjust the location of the local bus stops. Thanks to this change, individual traffic will be able to use Janáček Street near the station, said Antonín Zajíček, head of the city hall's development and investment department, to ČTK today. According to him, the investment will cost nearly 14 million Czech crowns, more than half of which should be covered by a grant from European funds. "The aim of the project is the revitalization of the entire area with a focus on passenger comfort and simplifying the traffic situation. Due to the current location of the stops, it is not possible for individual traffic to pass through Janáček Street. With the adjustment, personal cars will be able to use it,” Zajíček stated. The city hall will begin the investment, for which it has a promised grant of 8.5 million crowns from the regional operational program, on August 17. It should be completed by the end of November. During the adjustments, traffic in the area in front of the station will be limited, and the bus stops will be temporarily relocated.
