Prostějov - The Prostějov city hall will repair the space in front of the train station in the coming months, which has been in poor condition for years. The reconstruction will involve the roads and sidewalks in front of the railway station, for example. The investment is estimated to cost 17 million crowns, most of which will be covered by European grants. This was stated today by city hall spokesperson Jana Gáborová.
The reconstruction, which will affect Sladkovského and Martinákova streets, will begin in the middle of next week. It should be completed by the end of September at the latest. "The construction work will include the reconstruction of the roads, sidewalks, public lighting, and replacement of the existing furniture. New bus bays and a bike path will be created here," said Antonín Zajíček, head of the development and investment department at the city hall.
Repairs will require the closure of the road, which will last from June 1 to the end of August. "It can be expected that during the work, both access and entry to individual properties will need to be restricted," said Zajíček.
The city hall will have the space in front of the station repaired with the help of a grant from the European Regional Development Fund. The contribution can amount to up to 14 million crowns.
