Prague intends to construct a new building for the Prague Conservatory

"The conservatory is the second oldest in Europe. When we realize the conditions it currently operates in, they are tragic. They do not reflect the needs of education," Wolf said. It could stand in Nové Butovice on land behind the local shopping center. "It's by the metro, and there is transportation accessibility by cars," Wolf said.

In addition to education itself, the new building is also intended to help nurture new artists who will operate in Prague and attract potential tourists. "It is an investment (in the new building) that pays off. It is important that Prague attracts tourists not only for its monuments but also for live culture," Wolf said. According to him, a quality and modern school should attract foreign students who might then stay in Prague and work here.

Currently, Prague divides the collected money from the spa and local fees in half, where the first part goes to the city budget, and the second is returned to tourism. Now, ten percent of that second part would be capitalized and go to the new conservatory building. Additionally, according to the law, fees will be unified and Prague will be able to increase it to up to 50 crowns.
