Praha 5 published a book about the history of Smíchov

Prague - The Club of Friends of Old Smíchov, together with Prague 5, has published a book titled The Development of Smíchov by author Andrea Morkusová. The book was christened today by the mayor of Prague 5, Milan Jančík (ODS). The publication, subtitled "from vineyard estate to city center," summarizes the history of the area and describes the fates of the most significant Smíchov monuments.
    The Development of Smíchov is published in the Smíchov Forget-me-nots series, which continues the publishing activity of the original Club of Friends of Old Smíchov. This club was established in 1928 and managed to publish a total of two books before it was dissolved by the communist regime. The club was restored under the same name three years ago. The current Club of Friends of Old Smíchov organizes local history walks and operates a regional information portal.
    The book, which according to the author contains a number of unknown photographs and drawings, can be obtained by interested parties via the email address klub@praha-smichov.cz.
