Prague - Prague 3 will have an analysis prepared on how to proceed with the Žižkov football stadium. It could be operated by a city contribution organization or a long-term tenant. "We will have financial analyses prepared," said Alexander Bellu (ODS), the deputy mayor, to ČTK. So far, the city hall has not been able to reach an agreement with the long-term tenant, the Viktoria Žižkov club. The club does not have a valid contract and owes 900,000 crowns in rent. The dispute is therefore heading to court. "Our goal is for the stadium to be generally used and to generate profit," said the deputy mayor. According to him, it could serve not only for sports but also for cultural and commercial events, such as concerts and presentations. "We need to analyze what the operational costs will be and how much the stadium is capable of earning," he added. The municipal district is the owner of the stadium. In recent years, it has gradually paid 70 million crowns for it. The acquisition of property was completed last year with the purchase of an administrative building, stands, and lighting. Viktoria Žižkov, which is one of the oldest football clubs in the Czech Republic, has not paid rent for the stadium since last September. Therefore, the city hall recently filed a lawsuit. Within three months, it could have a decision regarding the eviction of the stadium in hand. However, according to the deputy mayor, it is still not excluded that an agreement could ultimately be reached for the club to continue its stay in Žižkov. In the past, the football club was also known for corruption scandals related to the activities of manager Ivan Horník. The media recently pointed out that players of the second-tier club have not been paid for several months.
