Prague - Prague 1 will offer people offices to be converted into apartments. Interested parties who invest in the conversion will subsequently have the opportunity to buy the apartments from the city hall. This was reported today by Deputy Mayor Tomáš Macháček (TOP 09). According to him, this approach is possible due to the simplification of regulations in the Civil Code. The city district is expected to announce a tender in September. The offer will pertain to offices in buildings on the Old Town Square, in Křemencová and Široká streets, and in Jircháře. The city hall will identify other locations. In September, the council and the assembly will decide on the proposal. The successful applicant in the tender will need to secure the consent of all neighbors affected by the conversion. "The outcome is the same as if the city district were to arrange the conversion of the space itself and subsequently sell the completed apartments - only with the difference that the complicated process of obtaining consents does not burden the officials and is therefore more efficient for the city hall," said Macháček.
