The new Aš cultural center LaRitma will open in December

Aš (Cheb region) - The new LaRitma cultural center in Aš is set to open on December 12. The renovation of the former vocational school of the Aritma company took more than a year, and the city paid 15.8 million crowns for it. The final construction work is now being completed, Robert Vyskočil from the Aš Forest Cultural and Sports Facilities Administration told reporters today.
    "Currently, two halls are being finished, one for music and one for theater. A bar with a restaurant, social facilities, and changing rooms have been completed. At the same time, a terrace facing the main road has been created, which is also nearing completion, so it will then be possible to hold outdoor concerts or performances," Vyskočil stated.
    By transforming the unused industrial building next to the town hall, the city has utilized one of its empty buildings and simultaneously created a space for cultural performances. According to Mayor Dalibor Blažek (HNHRM), LaRitma will replace the burned-down Klubíčko club and provide much more.
    "The entire city support for culture is based on a grant system. Anyone who wants to organize an event, concert, or performance in the city can apply to the city for a grant. LaRitma will then offer suitable spaces, which should not be at high prices," Blažek said.
    The renovation of the building, complicated by dry rot discovered during the work, is only the first phase. The city has already developed a study according to which the local elementary arts school will move into the second half of the building. At the same time, modifications to the entire surroundings are being prepared.
    Ultimately, what was previously a rather unattractive nook of the city should become a vibrant area that seamlessly connects to the nearby reconstructed Goethe Square.
