Ostravice (Frýdecko-Místecko) - The newly built Bezručova Hut on Lysá hora in the Beskids, which stands on the site of the original hut, has begun trial operations. In the coming weeks, the operators are preparing events for children, and will also host mayors of towns and municipalities bearing the name Frýdlant, said Jiří Stejskalík, head of the technical section of the Czech Tourist Club (KČT), to ČTK. The official launch of operations is planned for September. The hut is being built by the Czech Tourist Club (KČT). "The hut is gradually coming to life. We will finish the construction within a month. The kitchen will already be in operation then. However, work around the building will still take another three months," said Stejskalík. The official opening is planned for September 5. However, people can already access the building. "Everything is in trial operation. For example, we will host a conference of representatives of towns and municipalities bearing the name Frýdlant. Guests will come from all over Europe," he said. A theater performance by the Ententýky group will be prepared for parents with children on June 7. The Bezručova Hut is being built by the Czech Tourist Club and is financed from a public collection and donations. Over five million crowns have been collected in the account. The investor has promised additional funds. Thus, the completion of the construction should not be jeopardized. "The original project was to cost 56 million crowns. However, the actual costs will not exceed 32 million. To date, we have financed 29 million crowns already. People are contributing not only money. We also receive materials or services provided to us without compensation," Stejskalík stated. According to plans, the new lodge built on the site of the original famous Bezručova Hut is expected to open this year. The original Bezručova Hut burned down in 1978. For over three decades, only ruins reminded visitors of it on the highest peak of the Beskids. Besides refreshments and accommodation, the hut aims to offer education. "We want to focus on ecological education. To engage with children," Stejskalík had said earlier.
