Prague - Today, the exhibition Black and White Page of Wenceslas Square began in Prague, which aims to showcase all its aspects. The event is organized by the Association of New Town of Prague. The exhibition takes place directly on the square in the central strip in front of Café Tramvaj in the middle of the square. The photographic contest ran for six months, and the organizers collected 378 photographs, of which 23 are currently on display at Wenceslas Square. The exhibition will run until June 10.

The organizers want to draw attention to both the beauties and shortcomings of Wenceslas Square. "The photographs also have a significant documentary function," said the spokesperson for the event, Kateřina Goroškov Řeháková.

This year's subtitle of the event is to capture the overlooked faces and aspects of Wenceslas Square. "The Association (of New Town of Prague) is trying through this and other events to arouse public interest in the events and fate of Wenceslas Square," the spokesperson stated.

Another goal of the organizers is for the square not to be perceived only as a place where demonstrations were held in the past.

Wenceslas Square is 682 meters long and approximately 60 meters wide. Originally named Horse Market, it was established by the decree of Charles IV. In the 19th century, it was first renamed St. Wenceslas Square, later to Wenceslas Square.
