CONFERENCE HEALTHY HOMES 2013

We invite you to the ninth annual international conference Healthy Houses, which will take place in Brno on May 9 and 10, 2013. This year's conference will focus on the use of natural building materials in new energy-efficient buildings, the construction process based on the principles of sustainable development, and the creation and evaluation of the optimal indoor environment of buildings.

The international conference Healthy Houses, organized by the Faculty of Architecture of VUT Brno, is a traditional meeting of experts, students, and other interested parties in the construction of buildings characterized by low energy consumption and environmental protection. Traditional natural building materials, produced with the expectation of minimal greenhouse gas emissions, are used in the realization of these buildings. This includes various forms of buildings made of wood, clay, straw, hemp, and other natural materials.

This year's conference Healthy Houses aims to present current and prospective results in the area of application of building solutions, constructions, and materials in contemporary architectural creativity.

Thursday's program will be dedicated to energy-efficient houses and on Friday, the speakers will address natural building materials and architecture. Leading Czech and foreign experts will speak at the conference, and after each lecture and at the end of the lecture blocks, participants will have the opportunity for discussion and exchange of opinions and experiences. As part of the accompanying program, conference participants will be able to register for the seminar by architect Reinhard Coppenrath "The Design Process for Healthy Customers and Healthy Architects".

The international conference is held under the patronage of the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture VUT Brno, Assoc. Prof. Ing. Josef Chybík, CSc., and will take place on Thursday, May 9, and Friday, May 10, 2013, in the building of the Faculty of Architecture, Poříčí 5, Brno.
