FA CTU has announced dean elections

The Academic Senate of the Faculty of Architecture of CTU in Prague has announced the election of a dean for the Faculty of Architecture of CTU for a four-year term beginning February 1, 2026. Proposals for candidates can be submitted until October 24, 2025.

The Faculty of Architecture of CTU is the largest school of architecture in the Czech Republic. According to the QS World University Rankings 2025, CTU is the highest-rated university in the Czech Republic in the category of Architecture & Built Environment. The position of dean of FA CTU is currently held by assoc. prof. Ing. arch. Dalibor Hlaváček, Ph.D., who has completed his first term.

Under his leadership, the faculty has strengthened the quality of teaching and international cooperation: it has initiated the innovation of study programs, accredited a new program in Planning and Development, and received international quality recognition from IFLA for the Landscape Architecture program. It has signed a double degree agreement with Politecnico di Milano and opened a permanent guest studio for foreign educators and "emerging architects". It was also the first faculty at CTU to establish an ombudsman institute.

The dean is elected by a 15-member Academic Senate of FA CTU, composed of ten representatives of academic staff and five representatives of students. According to the Higher Education Act, the position may be held for a maximum of two consecutive terms.

Any member of the academic community of FA CTU can propose a candidate for the position of dean. Proposals are submitted to the electoral committee and must include the candidate's consent, confirmed by a handwritten signature, a brief professional CV, and an electoral program.

Candidates submit their proposals along with contact details in person at the FA CTU office, via data box, or send them by registered mail to: FA CTU Office, Academic Senate, Faculty of Architecture CTU in Prague, Thákurova 9, 166 34 Prague 6.

Proposals can be submitted until October 24, 2025, at 12:00 PM. Candidates will present themselves to the public on November 3, 2025, at 6:00 PM at FA CTU. The election will take place at the meeting of the Academic Senate FA CTU on November 5, 2025. The term of the newly elected dean will begin on February 1, 2026.
