The former sugar factory in Kutná Hora was purchased by a development company

Kutná Hora - Kutná Hora has found a buyer for the dilapidated building of the former Teller sugar factory on Čáslavská Street. The development company intends to build apartments, a hotel, and a restaurant in it. The city is expected to gain five million crowns from the sale, said ČTK Mayor Ivo Šanc (Chance for Kutná Hora).
    "A tender has been announced, one interested party has applied, and the council recommends the assembly to agree to the sale," Šanc stated.
    In the past, the city wanted to sell the sugar factory, which ceased operations in the first half of the 20th century, for several times more. However, this was not successful. According to the mayor, the municipality is now selling it for the appraised value.
    One of the first industrial sugar factories in Bohemia is located in the Karlov district next to the Klimeška sports complex. It consists of three separately accessible wings with a common attic space. In the past, the building was used as an apartment house, housing 15 apartments and three non-residential spaces. After 1990, the building housed a charity, and it is now empty.
