Hořice (Jičínsko) - The area of the former Mileta in Hořice, Jičín region, is set to be transformed into a residential complex worth hundreds of millions of crowns within three years, primarily aimed at seniors. The complex, which will include around a hundred smaller apartments, shops, and doctor’s offices, is intended to serve the elderly from a wide area, according to today’s edition of Mladá fronta Dnes (MfD) for the Hradec Králové region. "We do not believe that there is sufficient purchasing power in Hořice and the surrounding area to sell so many apartments to local buyers. Therefore, we want to offer them for rent primarily to seniors who are not reliant on constant medical care," said Dalibor Hudák, the managing director of the Prague-based company Simatex. The company is already having an architectural study prepared, is seeking funding, and plans to start construction next year. According to the managing director of Simatex, the use of the area may still be slightly adjusted. "It depends on how our potential future partners, whom we want to attract for financing the project worth hundreds of millions of crowns, approach the project. However, we definitely do not plan to accommodate people in social distress," Hudák stated. The mayor of Hořice, Ivan Doležal, stated that the city welcomes the finding of an investor willing to utilize the area for residential and service purposes. The city is currently having changes made to the zoning plan so that apartments can be created in the area designated for factories with industrial production. The change could be completed as early as autumn. "If everything is prepared this year, construction work could begin next year. We estimate the time required to transform the area according to our vision to be two years," Hudák added.
