Today, a lecture was held at the Prague headquarters of Raiffeisen Building Society by a member of the Vienna studio Delugan_Meissl. Just yesterday, the Amsterdam Film Museum announced a press release regarding the winning project of the architectural office Delugan_Meissl, which won the competition in June 2005. The press release provides more detailed documentation, from which we quote: “The film museum is conceived as a sculptural creation, (...). The smooth crystalline geometry of the surfaces reflects light in many directions and, in ever-changing light conditions, allows the building to be perceived - even from a great distance - in a different way each time. The film museum thematically deals with means that are equally important for film - movement and light, which transform to be readable externally and further dramatizes the already quite peculiar position of this specific place.”
The museum “brings together different areas of life, movement, communication, recreation, food + drink, and light, continually offering possibilities for unforeseen use.” Info>
